Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Remote Sensing Technologies for Large Water Body and Emergency Monitorin

Absrtact
The first task of this project is to maintain and establish three UAV bases located in the northern, middle and southern Taiwan for regular marine pollution monitoring. The UAV bases can provide aerial images in realtime for related agencies in charge of pollution, ship or vessel management especially during emergency handling. Satellite images are also provided by this project. Monitoring and surveillance images collected by UAV and satellites are integrated into current database system for better efficiency. Compared with the UAV in previous projects which comes with only one hour endurance and 1 kg payload capability, the UAV in this project has an endurance of 5 hours with 5 Kg payload. These improvements not only enlarged the operation range but also realized marine operations with much longer mission time.
